Jennifer Van DPM, MBA, FACFAS is Chief of Podiatry at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center within the University of Pennsylvania Health System and serves as a Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. With over a decade of experience in academic leadership, medical education, and advanced foot and ankle surgery, Dr. Van is dedicated to advancing the field through clinical excellence, research, surgical innovation, and physician education.
A former Assistant Dean with 10 years of academic leadership experience, Dr. Van has played a pivotal role in shaping podiatric medical education, mentoring future surgeons, and enhancing surgical training programs. She serves as core faculty for the Penn Presbyterian Podiatric Surgery Residency and Research Fellowship and is also faculty for AO Trauma North America, maintaining a strong commitment to surgical education, evidence-based care, and professional development.
Dr. Van lectures nationally on complex foot and ankle pathology and is actively involved in hands-on surgical training, teaching advanced foot and ankle procedures to surgeons through national workshops and educational programs. Her clinical and academic interests include traumatic injuries, reconstruction, minimally invasive surgery, limb preservation, and surgical innovation.
An accomplished scholar, Dr. Van has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters. Her contributions to medical literature and surgical education continue to influence best practices and improve patient outcomes nationally.
In addition to her clinical and academic roles, Dr. Van currently serves as President of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS), Tri-State Region, where she contributes to advancing the profession through leadership, advocacy, mentorship, and collaboration.
Through a career dedicated to patient care, education, and innovation, Dr. Van remains committed to advancing surgical outcomes, fostering the next generation of surgeons, and contributing to the continued evolution of foot and ankle surgery.
