Dr. Ronald Renzi has been a practicing podiatrist in Philadelphia and surrounding suburban areas for more than 35 years. Dr. Renzi served on the Global Lower Extremity Amputation Study Group and jointly published an article in the British Journal of Surgery. His work has also been cited in several U.S. medical journals and has discussed racial disparities in amputations at several national medical conferences. He is the director of the Save Your Soles campaign, a grassroots effort to reduce limb amputations in the Black male community of Philadelphia. In 2018, he was honored with the “Courage to Make a Difference” award by the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Benefits and Diversity Committee. In 2019, he was honored by the Chester Environmental Partnership. In 2025 the Foundation to Advance Vascular Cures awarded Dr Renzi and his muti-disciplinary team of researchers a grant to study limb loss incidence in seven sates using a standard cohort selection scheme,standard defintions and reporting methods. He is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, a graduate of the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine (formerly Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine) and completed a surgical residency at Kensington Hospital. Since 1991 he has served as a staff member of Abington Hospital.
